Gardening on the Atherton Tablelands

Perhaps having this contact with these tropical, exotic foods will offer something that will enrich and change you, perhaps even change your historical and geographical perspective as you think back to “the spice trade” and human settlement in the tropics.
It will feel a bit like opening up a smile box full of shooting stars bursting in bright colours, fragrance, flavour and tantalising shapes, when you grow fruit trees like lychees and black sapote: roots like taro and ginger: vegetables such as water chestnuts and yard long beans; plants like you might never have seen before with tastes you might never have known.
